Early Identification and Assessment
In our clinic, our clinical psychologists will typically first conduct a comprehensive assessment that includes the following:
-
An interview with the child and parents
-
A review of behavioral checklists completed by parents and teachers
-
Conduct standardized tests depending on the needs and symptoms of the child. Tests may include assessments on intelligence (IQ), learning difficulties, attention, memory, as well as executive functioning.
-
QEEG assessment (brain mapping)
Given the broad range of symptoms above, it should not be surprising that children (and adults) with ADHD are unique in their presentations. Thus there is no one size fits all solution.
Our hope is to discover the strengths of these children and aid them in attaining their true potential, to be successful with life’s challenges.
